After some speculation about Theo Walcott's future at the club, he has now officially signed a new long term contract with Arsenal. The deal is reportedly worth £60,000 a week for four years. Walcott year was dampened by a torn shoulder injury that kept him out for some four months during the campaign. However, he still managed a rather breakout year. He has become a national icon for England after netting a memorable hat-track against Croatia in the World Cup Qualifiers earlier this year. As well he deservedly sustained a starting spot in Arsenal's first team this year and at only 20 years old has already made 103 appearances for Arsenal and scored 14 goals. His pace and control with the ball are sublime and will only get better next season. Walcott's potential is one of the greatest I have seen in the world and he could very well be the face on the club for years to come. Next season he could see his role from the right wing be moved to a central striker position with the eventual departure of Adebayor. The best is still yet to come from this former Southampton star.
